Caitlin Palm er den norske artisten som satser på countrypop/rock med inspirasjon hentet fra det moderne Nashville. Få norske artister har begitt seg ut på denne sjangeren til tross for at country er en musikkstil som står mange nordmenn nært.
Artisten Caitlin vil kunne reflektere elememter fra band og artister som Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Lady A og Keith Urban men ønsker samtidig å vise sin egen særegenhet og sound i musikken.
Caitlin Palm er artist navnet til 31 år gamle Kjersti Palm Reitan fra Kongsvinger. Caitlin har vært en aktiv musiker hele sitt liv og har lang erfaring fra scenen, både som soloartist og frontfigur i band. Hun ser tilbake på høydepunkter som gjesteopptreden med Madrugada og deltagelse i Melodi Grand Prix jr. 2003 i Oslo Spektrum. Spesielt den siste tiden har Caitlin følt et intenst kall på å formidle sin egen musikk og via låtskriversamarbeid med Frode Martinsen utgir hun nå sitt debutalbum den 25. september. Flere av låtene er skrevet med bakgrunn i personlige hendelser og er skrevet så nært som mulig for at lytteren skal kunne kjenne seg igjen i skildringene. Albumet i sin helhet er produsert i Velvet Recording, Spydeberg.
I forkant av albumet har Caitlin sluppet 3 singler som har gjort seg bemerket både nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Låtene hennes blir spilt på radiostasjoner verden over og rundet nylig 5450 spillinger totalt. På Spotify nærmer streamingtallene seg 45.000 fordelt på 46 land. Størst av landene er Norge, Sverige, England, Canada og USA. Spesielt bemerkelsesverdig er det når en norsk artist blir radiospilt i USA og knytter kontakter i selveste hjertet av countrymusikken, nemlig Nashville. Caitlin hadde i sommer et intervju med Se og Hør hvor hun fortalte om noen tøffe ungdomsår preget av mobbing som følge av at hun ble en profilert artist i hjembyen sin. Hennes første singel "Go On" ble skrevet som følge av hvordan mobbing påvirker ens liv, men samtidig hvordan hun i senere tid har funnet styrken til å aldri gi opp artistdrømmen. Caitlin har mottatt flere flotte tilbakemeldinger for sin musikk og hennes første offisielle anmeldelse for låten "Chase the Blues" kom fra The Unsigned Reviewer i London. De skrev blant annet:

The track has a lot of light and shade which makes it so exciting and fresh and Caitlin’s vocals range is amazing. I really love this track and the musicianship is delight to listen to."

The Unsigned Reviewer nominerte med det Caitlin som månedens artist for juli, en tittel hun vant via publikumstemmer gjennom en avstemming på deres Instagram konto.
Caitlin har mange jern i ilden for tiden og satser stort med sitt kommende album. Det vil bli sluppet en ny singel den 11. september og fredag den 9. oktober vil det bli holdt en "Release Streaming konsert" fra studio, Velvet Recording.

PRESS RELEASE: CAITLIN PALM RELEASES HER DEBUT ALBUM
Caitlin Palm is a Norwegian countrypop/rock artist who draws inspiring from modern Nashville. Very few Norwegian artists have chosen to go in the same direction, despite the popularity of the genre among Norwegians.
Caitlin Palm wants to reflect some the elements found in acts such as Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Lady A and Keith Urban, but at the same time showcase her own distinct sound.
Caitlin Palm is the stage-name of 31-year-old Kjersti Palm Reitan from Kongsvinger, Norway. Caitlin has been an active musician her whole life and has a lot of experience performing on stage, as a solo artist and as the lead singer in bands. Highlights include a guest performance with Madrugada and Melodi Grand Prix Jr. 2003 in Oslo Spektrum. Lately, Caitlin has felt a strong calling to convey her music. She is releasing her debut album on 25 September, which she wrote together with Frode Martinsen. Many of the songs are based on personal experiences, and feel intimate and relatable. The entire album is produced by Frode Martinsen at Velvet Recording, Spydeberg.
Prior to releasing the album, Caitlin has released 3 singles, which rose to great acclaim nationally and internationally. Her songs are listed on radio stations across the world and just surpassed 5450 radio plays. On Spotify, she has 45,000 streams in 46 countries. Top countries include Norway, Sweden, England, Canada and USA.
It is quite remarkable that a Norwegian up-and-coming artist is getting airtime in the US and connecting with the industry in the heart of country music, Nashville. This summer, Caitlin had an interview with Se og Hør (one of the major tabloid magazines in Norway), where she opened up about difficult teenage years characterized by bullying rooted in her becoming a profiled young artist in her area. Her first single “Go On” was written about how bullying affected her life, as well as how she later found the strength to not give up on her dream of becoming an artist. Caitlin has received great feedback on her music. The first official review was written by London-based The Unsigned Reviewer, and they said the following about her song “Chase The Blues”:

Caitlin Palm was nominated artist of the month by The Unsigned Reviewer in July 2020, a title she won via a poll on Instagram.
Caitlin Palm has a lot going on at the moment and is putting a lot of time and resources into her upcoming album. A single from the album will be released 11 September, and 9 October she will live stream a release concert from the studio at Velvet Recording.
